JOB OVERVIEW

The NADC Sr. Demand Planner position is the owner of forecasting and capacity planning support across all brands including the decoration operations at the NADC. This role gives project support and analysis partnering with business leaders to offer decision support, recommending innovative solutions to improve capacity utilization across all brands, stock and embroidery. This position owns responsibility for ensuring that high quality forecasts and capacity planning are developed by leveraging the best available cross-functional inputs and applying judgment based on knowledge of the business and robust cross-functional discussions. An active blend of art and science to drive the forecasting of labor and operating capacity in the site.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop demand/capacity forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand/capacity planning function.
  • Review historical trends, review open orders, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Forecasting and capacity planning support across multiple channels and business units, giving project support and analysis, partnering with peers and business leaders to offer decision support
  • Manage cross-functional projects with tight deadlines.
  • Work upstream with supply planning/transportation to know when products are estimated to arrive and model those into the operational flow forecast.
  • Prioritize workloads, maintain a strong attention to detail and work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Utilize data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Responsible for coordinating flow of information between warehouse operations teams, order management, art, and logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with a practical, common sense approach; Ability to transition fluidly from broad strategic thinking to execution and untangling of tactical details.
  • Manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Establish comprehensive operations and project plans to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Create an environment and culture of knowledge sharing , automated analytics, opportunity identification, and proactive communication/action.
  • Help establish a culture that is truly aligned with “how we think” and ensures capacity is utilized.
  • Keeps informed of current best-in-class practices, processes, and techniques and brings them into the organization as appropriate.
  • Improves capacity forecast accuracy by effectively analyzing sources of forecast error and recommending appropriate action plans.
  • Develops and publishes key forecast accuracy metrics and analyzes prior forecasts to identify potential sources of forecast error and develops action plans to improve accuracy.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and monitor rush orders with Order Management and all embroidery facilities, run availability checks on logo orders for newly received inventory
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on all embroidery facility performance, verify Pack and Rack deliveries to ensure on time shipment, monitor pre-production orders for anomalies and errors, and communicate sales order inventory shortages to OM and management
  • Other duties as assigned

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Knowledge of Business Objects, PowerBI and Business Warehouse reporting platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, MS Power Point and MS Excel
  • Knowledge of valuation and financial modeling.
  • Strong project management and execution skills.
  • Solid presentation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate thought leadership by independently developing and advocating a point of view.
  • Ability to identify, own and implement process changes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior management.
  • Ability & willingness to travel domestically and internationally

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree (B. A.) in Finance, Accounting, or Business required.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
