The Sr. Billing Systems Analyst is responsible for testing and verifying billing system data and system processes to ensure complete and accurate billed data. With moderate guidance, completes analyses that are helpful toward understanding billing issues, and recommending resolutions. Learn to apply technical aptitude, experience, and education to complete assigned projects successfully with diminishing need for guidance. This position will maintain accurate records utilizing Excel. Utilize and develop spreadsheets and other supporting data, complete analysis, and share information with others within Billing.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews customer invoices for accuracy and completeness. Ensures accurate billing by means of sampling or reperforming processes.
  • Provides examples and potential solutions to solve discrepancies or conflicts with billed charges.
  • Develops and/or executes audit plans based on analysis of potential problems for management approval. Performs random and targeted audits to ensure accuracy of invoices.
  • Validates services ordered, comparing rates provided match rates quoted, rates match tariffs and/or contracts to ensure correct billing. Validate prorations of services based on work order dates and product setup.
  • Serves as a resource for internal customers by researching and answering Billing and Access Revenue questions.
  • Perform recurring analysis on accounts receivable, summarizing to ensure timely identification of issues within the aged balances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent education, experience and training may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis plus five years of experience and knowledge of billing systems, accounting, and/or finance required. Equivalent education, and/or training may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience in the telecommunications industry resulting in a demonstrated familiarity with billing processes.
