Description: The Spa Receptionist coordinates and schedules spa services, pools, and other spa functions, such as spa groups. Participates in overall quality control of the spa. The Spa Receptionist also assists with maintaining retail inventory, assists in the preparation of the monthly retail inventory, merchandises the retail area, rearranges product, and alerts Retail Manager of low inventory and guest inquiries regarding retail products.
The spa receptionist opens and/or closes the spa, handles cash, and uses the spa software system. Adheres to all opening, ongoing and closing check lists. Communicates immediately to appropriate spa staff of any schedule changes, problems, guest or staff issues. The Spa Receptionist follows strict grooming standards, looking clean, crisp and neat at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promptly answer phones and provide accurate spa menu and related resort information.
• Book guest appointments efficiently and accurately; assist with LMT bookings, communication and paperwork.
• Greet guests with a sincere welcome and explain services in the spa menu.
• Engage all spa guests in friendly conversation, when appropriate.
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of all spa menu, retail products and services.
• Must be able to articulate and describe all spa services, retail products and related services in a clear, enthusiastic way.
• Escort and tour guests through spa facility as needed, in a friendly, unhurried manner.
• Promote service specials and spa facility.
• Communicate with Spa Supervisors, Spa Manager & Retail Manager regarding any guest requests or problems.
• Handle daily paperwork as directed or per protocol.
• Open and close the spa, including cash handling/cash-out, processing retail receipts, running reports, and associated duties, assuring that close out reports are inclusive of all issues, activities, and services.
• Keep front desk and lobby reception areas exceptionally clean, also keeping open drinking containers away from front desk area.
• Assist with monthly retail inventory planning and implementation.
• Utilize downtime effectively by reviewing and following checklists, following verbal instructions and/or seeking guidance from Spa Manager.
• Perform Spa Attendant role as needed.
• Understand first aid/emergency procedures and be able to direct guests accordingly.
• Incorporate the resort’s Mission and Core Values into all aspects of job performance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of combined spa or hotel front desk and/or retail experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred but not required.
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Computer skills, experience, and aptitude.
• Reliability and punctuality are critical.
• Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience.
• Desire to ensure the best possible guest experience.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays required.
• Ability to work in a quiet environment where the employee may be exposed to heat, cold, and steam.
• Ability to stand for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and the ability to speak and communicate quietly yet clearly.
