We are currently seeking a SOCIAL WORKER in Laurium, Michigan to work in at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in the CARE COORDINATION department. The Social Worker assists patients and families in coping with problems resulting from severe or long-term illness, and with difficulties in recovery and rehabilitation. Works with patients and families to obtain psychosocial history, assists patients in resolving environmental difficulties interfering with attainment of maximum benefits for medical care, and conducts routine discharge planning.

Hours: This position is Full Time; 1.0 FTE or 40 hours per week.

Experience/Qualifications/Licensure

• Knowledge of social work theories, therapies, and techniques of casework processes, and principles of public welfare.
• Bachelor’s in Social Work required. Masters preferred.
• Current Michigan Social Worker certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Coursework in Medical Social Work preferred.
