Snowmaker Job at Eldora Mountain Resort
Compensation:Proposed hiring rate of $20.00+/hour, depending on experience
Benefits:This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
Requirements:When the sun goes down and temperatures drop below freezing, our snowmakers gear-up and head out on the mountain. Facing challenging weather and difficult mountain terrain, our snowmakers perform the physically demanding job of tending to our snowmaking equipment. This position plays an instrumental role in creating the product that our guests enjoy: advanced, intermediate, beginner terrain, learning areas, terrain parks and race courses. It all starts with our snowmakers. Candidates for this position must be willing to work long hours in a fast-paced team environment. Job essentials include: carrying equipment down the mountain; operating snow guns; safely working around high air and water pressures; clearing snow from snowmaking hoses, hydrants and equipment; and safe operation of snowmobiles.

Requirements:
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
- Must have an interest in learning about the process of making snow
- Must have a willingness to work 12-hour shifts, day or night
- Ability to work outside in a mountain environment during harsh conditions
- Ability to walk through deep snow while carrying heavy equipment and tools (50+ pounds)
- Ability to move large volumes of snow with a shovel
- Previous snowmaking/ ski area experience preferred, but not required
