Job Description Summary:
This faculty member (12-month) will be primarily responsible for teaching didactic, lab and/or clinical courses associated with the on-campus and online respiratory care programs in accordance with program and course learning outcomes. This will include advising students on academics, attendance, and behavior, maintaining, and reporting grades, and collaborating with program faculty to create a strong and supportive learning environment.

Additional responsibilities may include participating in faculty clinical practice, recruiting and retention activities, community engagement opportunities and interprofessional collaboration.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to engage in research and scholarship, service, and professional leadership activities.

Job Description:
Required Qualifications

Education: This position requires both of the following required qualifications

Master's degree in respiratory care or related field

Undergraduate degree in respiratory care from a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program.

Work Experience:
5 years of professional clinical experience as a respiratory therapist; 3 years of which must include experience in adult critical care or neonatal critical care, or a combination of both.

2 years (or equivalent) of academic/teaching experience in higher education.

Effective teaching record with an ability to engage with faculty and students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Scholarly record and ability to meet the scholarly requirements of the University.

Demonstrated commitment to intercultural competence, inclusive excellence, and initiatives that advance the success of underrepresented groups.

Demonstrated record of professional service activities

Demonstrated record of community engagement activities that promote respiratory health and wellness

NPS and/or ACCS NBRC specialty credential(s) preferred

Respiratory licensure (or eligible) in both Kansas and Missouri

Mentor and advise students and applicants to the program

Teach didactic, lab, and clinical courses as assigned

Engage in scholarly and professional development activities

Engage in professional service and community engagement activities

Serve on college and university committees as assigned

Participate in recruitment and retention activities

Participate in program and curriculum review and development
