The General Field Technician is a unionized position that provides services to meters in the field, in addition to other shop-based functions on meters.
Responsibilities:
Exchanges AMI electric meters
Cleaning and retrofitting electric meters
Researches field work complaints
Coordinate and monitors field work
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Degree or Equivalent
Experience with using hand tools
Ability to communicate with the public.
One year or more of utility or electric experience preferred.
Ability to travel 75% - 100%
Physical Requirements:
Work may require excessive bending or stooping
Employee required to walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day
Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform their job
Employee required to climb ladders and use hand tools
Clean and sort of electric meters, washing of meter covers
Wiring of basic electric metering assemblies
Material assembly preparation and breakdown of boxes
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- Electrical: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 75% (Preferred)
