The Shipboard Welding Lead will be supporting shipboard modernization projects. Bring your expertise and grow with a company supporting our military defense and training sites.

You will be part of leading a member team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. The team has been recognized by the customers for their outstanding contributions to several contracts and programs .

In this role, you will:
  • Assist Project Managers and Installation Leaders with various projects.
  • Provide direction on projects from inception through completion and to provide technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with the technical requirements of the contract for the customer.
  • Manage and coordinate technical and administrative staff by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating multiple tasks.
  • Evaluate performance of subcontractors and staff in terms of actual and planned task schedules and resource requirements.
  • Review work for quality assurance.
  • Compose memorandum, reports, and other documentation highlighting project steps and status for daily and weekly meetings with customer.
  • Ensure training of all staff members and instructs them on customer’s methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluate, develop, or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development.
  • Review employee schedules and time-cards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain, or possess, a U.S. Government granted personnel security clearance at the Secret level and US Citizenship.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 8-10 years of experience or a High School Diploma/GED and 12-14 years of experience (Shipboard Welding experience highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of DoD program execution, including scheduling, data gathering and analysis, or government contracts.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office products to use and create spreadsheets, reports and presentations.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic production environment.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and capable of developing appropriate solutions to emergent issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn new program functional skills and tasks.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
