ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Abide by all Safety regulations and policies
• Must wear all required PPE for any task/job currently being performed
• Meet all production standards and efficiencies focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost based on current routings/times
• Perform daily housekeeping task. Help maintain 5S standards in your work location and whole department
• Must be willing to work outside of your current Job Classification and Department as qualified and needed
• Must complete First Piece Inspection protocol and related paperwork
• Read blueprints to determine components that must be welded and number of welds needed
• Assemble and weld various components to meet appropriate quality and production standards
• Supply assembled housings of appropriate quality and production requirements to the MIG welders.
• Assemble various parts, in proper sequence, into fixtures and machines; activate equipment to perform housing welding operation.
• Perform set-ups to change operations and obtain proper weld. Make adjustments for change in dimensions of cabinets.
• Maintain and clean welding equipment and adjust equipment to ensure product quality. Perform self-audits and detect defects.
• Sand and grind welds as needed to meet appropriate quality and production standards
• Self-sufficient on start-up and shutdown equipment procedures
• Select appropriate weld setting to obtain a quality weld
• Operate all necessary equipment to assemble and weld components
• Perform quality checks of parts as needed including effective use of calipers, micrometers, and functional gauges
• Must be able to perform quality welds to steel and/or aluminum components and meet all code requirements on welds
• Work with other employees to complete assemblies on multiple person operations
• Check welds for strength
• Check and inspect all parts
• Move finished assemblies to appropriate area

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to attain MIG welding certification
• Basic mechanical abilities
• Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Organizational and communication skills
• Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge
• Strong orientation toward:
  • Safety, quality, and continuous improvement demonstrated by a work history of safe performance, accuracy and attention to detail in the work performed, constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement, ability to effectively implement or respond to change, punctuality and consistent work attendance
• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures, including those related to Safety
• Able to speak, read, and write in English
• Able to accurately read blueprints
• Able to identify all components needed to complete assemblies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Will be working in a manufacturing plant with varying climate
• Must be able and willing to work daily and weekly overtime as required
• Able to stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily
• Able to lift, push and/or pull up to 33lbs individually and up to 66lbs as a team
• Able to grasp continuously
• Able to frequently walk, reach, push and pull
