Senior Estimator for Special Projects

Pay Range: $55,000-$70,000 per year

Summary of Job:

As the Senior Estimator for the Landscape Construction Projects department, you are responsible for creating proposals/estimates, providing cost and scope estimates and serving as a subject matter expert for DLC’s internal and external clients. You will meet onsite at locations to discuss project goals and specifics in order to create proposals and come up with ideas for the landscape. You will attend client meetings as needed to support the maintenance team in talking about special projects proposals and answer client’s questions about solutions for their landscape challenges. You will also attend weekly job progress meetings and coordinate with the SP Field Managers as needed for successful job execution.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for accurate estimates/proposals for construction projects for DLC’s internal and external clients show casing DLC’s construction ability. This includes: facilitating deliverables to include the proposal, maps, ROI’s, illustrations and other factual detail as required on a per project basis, integrating with the marketing department for proposal support and in person attendance at meetings to understand the scope of the project and support the selling of the proposal.
• Asses projects by identifying project requirements (in regard to time, labor, and material costs)
• Maintain thorough records of all project documentation including estimates, sales receipts, and project completion documentation
• Work hand-in-hand with the Special Projects Field Managers and their crews in the execution of work as proposed and provide guidance and real-time problem solving
• Serve as the go-to resource for internal customers wanting to know more about projects and share your experience to educate the broader team
• Utilize your expertise to suggest forward-thinking improvements to the common area landscape of our existing clients and support them in creating multi-year project plans and budgets.
• Attending meetings in day and some night to discuss bids and projects with clients
• Some client relations responsibilities in order to selling proposed work

Job Skills/Requirements:

· High School degree or equivalent experience

· 2+ years office administration and industry experience preferred

· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

· Bilingual in English & Spanish a plus

· Professional communication skills, verbal and written

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Strong organization and priority setting skills

· Training will be provided for proprietary software

· Landscape construction experience (3 years) Required

· Landscape construction estimating (3 years) Required

· Commercial landscape irrigation (1 year) Preferred

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

· Works in an office environment.

· Prolonged sitting at a computer with some standing and bending intermittently during work hours.

· Is subject to frequent interruptions.

· Ability to move arms, hands and fingers to type.

· Close vision required for computer monitors.

· Ability to walk long distances

Environmental Factors:

· Is subject to frequent interruptions

· Standard Office work environment, with some requirements to visit outdoor job sites

· Expected to travel to various company sites

· Must be able to work in all types of climates

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
