Ideagen in North America is seeking a subject matter expert for our Audit Analytics product. The Senior Accounting Research Analyst is passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced in the field of regulatory financial accounting. They will interpret and analyze complex accounting topics from public company regulatory filings, perform qualitative, subjective analysis to normalize filings into industry standard accounting taxonomies, and review financial statements to quantify firms’ material misstatements. The Analyst will add significant value to departmental initiatives through wide-ranging product knowledge, training and documentation, client support, and quality management. In addition, the Senior Accounting Research Analyst will assist in data research and collection while shaping data collection methodology and new product definition. The Analyst will work cross functionally, globally with customers, and other internal stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform qualitative, subjective analysis to normalize filings into industry standard accounting taxonomies
- Perform all research and data collection tasks at a high level of quality and accuracy
- Drive documentation improvements and maintain training materials
- Assist Quality Management and Research Team Leads in developing quality control projects
- Oversee and perform routine and custom quality control procedures
- Address basic and advanced internal and external client support inquiries
- Collaborate with Research Analysts and Research Analytics team to improve and update data collection processes
- Understand and communicate general knowledge of Audit Analytics’ product portfolio
- Lead special projects and mentor peers
Knowledge & Experience
- CPA highly preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in accounting or business required
- Big 4 and/or Audit experience highly preferred
- Passion for continuous improvement and efficiency
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and reading comprehension
- Working knowledge of accounting topics including accounting standards, auditing, and financial statements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Sound judgement and ability to see big picture
