Under direction, coordinates and participates in month-end and year-end close, as well as, year-end audit. Performs account analysis and provides guidance to other staff.

• Coordinates and participates in month-end and year-end close, as well as, working with external auditors to provide all required data for year-end audit.
• Reviews all month- and year-end reporting generated by the department for internal distribution, as well as, to Corporate Headquarters; works with Senior Manager Accounting to explain and understand results.
• Supplies data and analysis as required for preparation of yearly budget; maintains all balance sheet accounts for respective company and prepares monthly account analysis for review, and reviews those prepared by other Accountants in the department. Makes recommendations as to proposed adjustments.
• Provides guidance for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger functions as required.
• Maintains the fixed asset monthly accounting, including decision making on capitalization and expense.
• Takes on an integral role in special projects throughout the years, such as insurance, budgeting and process improvement tools.
• Identifies, develops, and implements cross-functional process improvements.
• Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Education:

BS in Finance or Accounting.

Related Experience:

5-8 years finance or accounting related experience. SAP experience strongly preferred.

Special Competencies or Certifications:

• Varied experience in all aspects of Finance and Accounting, including A/P, A/R, and banking
• Background in auditing or similar experience with implementing and maintaining internal controls
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with a minimum amount of supervision
• Requires thorough knowledge of use of personal computer including Microsoft Office programs and proficiency with accounting/financial software
• Good communication skills
