Lyons Magnus is seeking a Security Guard for its Fresno location.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Must be willing to work weekends if needed)

Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Duration: Long term

Job Summary:

A member of the Security and Safety department, a food service division at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Fresno, California. This position is responsible for the security and safety of Lyons Magnus employees, related properties, production, and activities. This position reports to the Security Manager.

Description of Security Responsibilities:

• Patrols assigned areas and parking areas. 70% patrolling facility and 30% spent at Security Booth.
• Ensures the personal safety of Lyons Magnus employees, staff, visitors and property.
• May operate and monitor security control panel alarms, and related security equipment to provide area, incoming/outgoing traffic and visitor surveillance.
• Checks for suspicious occurrences and always enforces safety procedures.
• Responds to and investigates all suspicious situations. Calls police or other authorities to investigate suspicious activities that require intervention.
• Assist security guards in Security Booth by checking ID cards of persons entering the premises. Refuses to admit persons who cannot show either proper authorization or cause for being admitted.
• Maintains logs and records of occurrences, activities, and checkpoints, completes necessary paperwork/reports.
• Maintains working knowledge of the locations of various departments, buildings, access routes and admitting requirements.
• Completes daily security reports on software applications.

Description of Safety Responsibilities:

• Complete safety walks and inspections for equipment such as emergency lights, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, first aid kits, personal protective equipment, etc.
• Replenish first aid kits, ear plug dispensers, and water cups as needed.
• Provide transportation for employees that need medical attention.
• Completes monthly safety reports on software application.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of radios, camera systems, emergency procedures
• Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred but not mandatory
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Experience in completing reports/investigations with strong attention to detail

Education and/or Experience:

• Associates degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of general experience in security, law enforcement.
• Understanding of federal, state and local requirements, including OSHA
• MUST HAVE GUARD CARD
