SEASONAL MARKET GARDEN ASSISTANT

For 2023 season

Codman Community Farms is a working farm in the heart of the beautiful rural town of Lincoln, located adjacent to the commuter rail. We steward over 150 acres of land within the town of Lincoln and have an 18-acre home farm that includes historic barns, outbuildings, organically managed (not certified) vegetable and fruit fields, and pastures. Codman is growing its sustainable farming programs and seeks individuals interested in learning and growing with the farm. We are primarily a community and livestock farm but in 2021 we added a new, low-til market garden. Work on the farm includes all aspects of raising and caring for our pasture-based livestock, maintaining our pastures and fields, as well as tending our growing market garden. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in getting dirty and learning about running a direct to consumer market and flower market.

The farm raises 100% grass-fed beef, pasture-raised meat chickens and egg-laying hens, turkeys, pigs, and other minor stock including goats, and sheep (seasonally). We also utilize two Livestock Guardian Dogs to protect our poultry. We use organic growing practices but are not certified organic.

For the 2023 season, the Market Garden Assistant will work primarily in our 1.5-acre intensive Market Garden and learn all aspects of running an intensive permanent bed system.
