Sample Coordinator Job at UPL NA Inc.
The Sample Coordinator will offer growing experience in both greenhouse and controlled environment settings to support the New Agricultural Technology Team and provide support for the global shipping and receiving of biological and chemical materials used in UPL laboratories and greenhouses.
The selected candidate will own the management of site inventories (chemical, seed, and consumables) including procurement, receiving, and distribution, as well as support handling and disposal program for hazardous waste at the site.
JOb Responsibilities:
Maintain site inventory and procure consumables, chemicals, and seeds.
Support the global import/export process for biological and chemical samples.
Serve as primary point of contact and primary user of global sample request system at the OpenAg Center.
Support the program for collection and disposal of hazardous waste at the site.
Maintain facility SDS records.
Serve as primary point of contact for Hazmat waste disposal vendor.
Maintain facility signage.
Assist with administration of training and tracking of facility training needs.
Assist with greenhouse operations during “all hands” activities when able.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science from an accredited college or university, preferably in Agricultural, Crop Science, or Biological discipline.
- 1 year of experience growing plants in greenhouses or controlled environments, experience growing both traditional and specialty crops desired preferred.
- Experience with procurement, inventory, and logistics processes.
- Ability to work in the United States on an on-going basis without company sponsorship.
