Knot Just Lumber is a full-service hardwood lumber supplier in Hiawatha, IA. We serve the Midwest's hobby and professional woodworkers.

Looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity to grow with a small business? Do you enjoy both sales and marketing? Our company is seeking an industrious and self-driven salesperson to manage a variety of responsibilities.

Weekly tasks will be a blend of an external sales role with some internal sales and marketing efforts. Spend one day a week on-site, engaging with retail customers and promoting the business to increase store traffic. Spend the rest of the week engaging with woodworkers in the community. Connect through in-person visits, calls, or emails during flexible hours of your choosing.

Routinely engage with home builders, remodelers, furniture makers, flooring installers, sawyers, and woodworkers. Sales territory will focus on the Cedar Rapids metro. Infrequent travel potential to Waterloo, Dubuque, Iowa City, and the Quad Cities.

The role is part-time with the possibility of full-time conversion as we continue to grow. Beginning monthly income is expected around $2,000. With no commission cap, monthly income should quickly increase.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Make sales calls to sell products and services to local and regional customers
  • Track sales for commission payments and coordinate product delivery dates with our shop team
  • Gather customer feedback to influence future product and service lines
  • Engage with local customers in person and online to foster a sense of community
  • Perform internal sales 8 hours a week through running the store, answering customer calls and emails
  • Recommend and execute marketing and advertising campaigns locally and online
