The Sales Associate is responsible for obtaining and receiving merchandise, totaling bills, accepting payment, and making change for customers in retail store by performing the following duties.

Position Requirements

Valid Driver’s License, Clear Driving Record, Negative Drug Test, Background Check

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Answering in-bound calls and directing them to the needed department/employee
• Stocking shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
• Setting up displays and arranging merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales
• Tagging prices on merchandise
• Obtaining and receiving merchandise requested or selected by customers
• Monitoring inventory levels and ordering inventory as needed
• Answering customers’ questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
• Ability to total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill if POS system is not functioning
• Accepting payments and making change; wrapping, bagging, and sometimes loading merchandise for customers
• Removing and recording amount of cash in register at end of shift
• Keeping the showroom clean and orderly
• Maintaining personal health and sanitation standards

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Previous retail or customer service experience a plus
• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze documents
• Ability to speak politely and effectively with customers
• Ability to work with minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

Expected Hours Of Work and Work Environment

• Monday-Friday: beginning 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or as instructed/coordinated by the Executive Management Team
• Saturdays: beginning 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., mainly during the Spring/Summer season (1st Saturday of April until Labor Day in September), as instructed/coordinated by the Executive Management Team
• Shares & rotates shifts with other Sales Associates
• Will rotate between Shreveport and Bossier City store locations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
