What Will You Be Doing?

Provides instruction and overall quality oversight to contracted vendor Technicians. Performs inspection on aircraft as required. Assists with the administration of company, department, and other applicable policies with an emphasis on safety and regulatory elements.

Essential Functions ·

  • Provide constant oversight for safety and compliance related issues at the Class II Station
  • Performs maintenance inspection on aircraft as required
  • Ensure Required Inspection Items (RII) policies are adhered to.
  • Perform Receiving Inspections as necessary
  • Participate in daily Operational, Materials, Maintenance Planning conferences
  • Audit and monitor the aircraft maintenance and inspection functions to ensure the airworthiness of Frontier aircraft on outsourced Maintenance activities
  • Ensure vendor is providing detailed turnovers of work in progress for oncoming shifts
  • Ensure vendor assigned RII Qualified Technicians are up to date on Frontier Airlines training
  • Audit in-process and completed aircraft records (e.g., logbook pages, work cards, non-routines, Engineering documents [EOs, EAs, etc.], and other related documents)
  • Provide “buy-back” of Required Inspection Item (RII) and Non-RII maintenance actions
  • Approve return to service of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations
  • Provide Airworthiness Release
  • Reject work that has been found unsatisfactory in accordance with published procedures
  • Perform Borescope Inspections as assigned
  • Perform NDT Inspections as assigned

Other Functions

  • Monitor AOG reports in conjunction with Maintenance Control Center (MCC) to ensure materials are available for AOG/OOS aircraft.
  • Monitor vendor's performance for deficiencies and collaborate with vendor for corrective action when necessary
  • Conduct lost and found tool investigations and complete associated reports
  • Communicate deficiencies, regulatory issues and safety issues, observed at subject Class II Stations to Manager of Inspection/Assistant Chief Inspector.

Qualifications

  • Current Mechanic Certificate with both airframe and powerplant ratings, held for at least five years
  • Three years of maintenance experience on different types of large airplanes with 10 or more passenger seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station, one year of which must have been as maintenance inspector
  • Preferred - At least 1 year of prior experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining same the category and class of aircraft as Frontier Airlines fleet
  • Requires the ability to obtain, hold, and maintain Required Inspection Item (RII) authorization
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain Airworthiness release/return to service. • Must be Fleet Qualified on Frontier's aircraft
  • Must have a current US Passport or shall be able to obtain a US Passport within three (3) months of assignment in the Inspection Department
  • Must demonstrate behavior that portrays the company core values of Safety, Respect, Trust, Collaboration, Value, and Passion while communicating with personnel and acting on behalf of the company

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Equipment Operated

Standard office equipment, including PC, copier, fax machine, printer, borecope, eddy current and ultra-sonic machines, blacklight and radiometer

Physical Effort

Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.

Supervision Received

General Direction: The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Positions Supervised

Position provides oversight of both contracted and Company elements within the scope of Technical Operations at Class II Station

Range: $84,280.00 - $105,350.00
