SUMMARY:
The Occupational Health Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who is responsible for providing Team Members with primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, assisting with health promotion education and training programs, performing required health assessments for specified programs, conducting required screening tests such as drug and alcohol testing, spirometry testing, audiometric testing, maintaining OSHA state and employee health records, and case management. Participating in plant safety and ergonomic programs, identifying, and assisting with worker’s compensation cases, and assisting with maintenance and documentation of worker’s compensation files. These tasks are done while adhering to the highest standard of confidentiality.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Minimum academic preparation includes completion of an accredited Registered Nurse program and a current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving and organizational skills. Basic computer skills are required, and knowledge of Microsoft Office and platforms for tracking healthcare information is desirable, but not required.
Current Basic Life Support certification is desirable, but not required.
Experience and ability to manage emergency care situations.
Ability to organize, plan, work independently, and manage multiple responsibilities
Experience: One plus (1+) years experience as an RN in the performance of nursing skills or relevant nursing field desirable.
Current CPR/First Aid instructor certification is desirable but not required.
Travel: Occasional travel to a local clinic hospital.
Not eligible for relocation assistance.
Schedule: 40 hours/week, with primary work schedule being second (2nd) shift, Monday-Friday. Occasionally to meet needs, schedule changes may be made.
ABOUT TYSON: Join the Occupational Health Team at our Caseyville Prepared Foods plant - Pay ranges from $29.75 to $39.75 per hour (depending on experience) with 100% FREE TUITION through our affiliated partners.
Tyson is currently in the process of expanding our operations in Caseyville with a $181 million dollar investment to add 7 new state-of-the-art production lines to our current 4 production lines. With automated warehousing and robotics at the heart of this expansion, the facility will be a Flagship of the Prepared Foods division. The facility currently produces Jimmy Dean and Hillshire branded retail products, and the expansion will further develop our capabilities.
