Turning Point Community Programs is seeking a Recruiting Coordinator to join our Administration Office in Rancho Cordova. DEFINITION

Under direction, performs professional staff services in any of the areas of recruitment and onboarding and performs related work as assigned.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

The classification is responsible for supporting and enacting recruitment strategies, as well as tracking and reporting on relevant statistics and data to keep all parties informed. To ensure the success of these efforts, this position connects qualified applicants to respective Program team members and collaborates with departments to provide an engaging and informative onboarding experience.

  • Assists recruiter with screening and initial contact of applicants to determine qualifications and interest level.
  • Communicating recruiting processes and procedures to hiring managers
  • Coordinates interviews and will follow up with applicant/hiring manager when there are delays in the process.
  • Speaks with applicants to clarify information on their resume for credentialing purposes and will pivot applicant to another requisition if underqualified.
  • Ensuring efficiency in time to hire is maintained, while maintaining a high level of accuracy within applicant tracking system.
  • Managing job postings in various media outlets including corporate website, vendor websites and internal communications.
  • Sourcing passive candidates through online resume databases, recruiting software and social media.
  • Developing strong awareness and understanding of the business and functional areas of responsibility to target and hire the best talent.
  • Participating in job fairs and employment open houses.
  • Screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and forwarding qualified applicants to the hiring managers within the program.
  • Coordinating all on-boarding documentation and procedures with new hires.
  • Partnering with the Department of People Operations to develop and improve on-boarding and new hire orientations.
  • Participates in special projects and studies as assigned; conducts research and prepares and presents findings and recommendations.

Knowledge Of:

  • Theory, principles, practices of human resources administration;
  • TPCP procedures, rules and regulations and related documents governing DPO;
  • TPCP DPO policies and procedures and labor code provision;
  • TPCP organization, operations, policies and mission;
  • Research methods and data analysis techniques;
  • Principles and practices of sound business communication;
  • Applicant Tracking and Human Resources Information Systems;
  • Standard business software, including word processing and spreadsheet programs; and,
  • Principles and practices of effective management and supervision.

Ability To:

  • Perform professional-level, public agency human resources work independently and creatively.
  • Interpret, apply and explain complex federal, state and local laws, ordinances, policies and procedures, and bargaining unit agreements.
  • Assign and Analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and make sound, appropriate recommendations.
  • Organize, set priorities and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Interpret, apply, explain and reach sound decisions in accordance with TPCP and department policies, procedures and labor code provisions.
  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports, correspondence and other written materials.
  • Operate a computer using word processing and other business software and other standard office equipment.
  • Organize and maintain specialized files.
  • Maintain confidentiality of TPCP and personnel files and records.
  • Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential personnel issues and employee situations; and,
  • Ability to get to multiple locations, typically by car.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Compensation: $25.00 - 26.53 per hour with a $1000 sign-on bonus
