Working alongside R&D Engineering teams, the R&D Test Technician performs a variety of tests, primarily hydrodynamics, on various types of centrifugal pumps ensuring each pump is assembled, set-up, and instrumented to meet test specifications, that the testing and data processing conforms to lab standards of accuracy and completeness, with all steps being performed safely, efficiently, and with quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly and set up of centrifugal pumps, piping, drivers, couplings, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems in a laboratory environment.
  • Conduct tests, performing in-process checks to establish data quality.
  • Process, review, and document data using standard tools and procedures.
  • Modification of pump components to monitor performance characteristics at the instruction of engineering personnel.
  • Support a safe and productive work environment in the lab through participation in ongoing process improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma and/or trade school is required; A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering or Equivalent is preferred

Experience: 1+ Years of Experience

Other Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of test instrumentation, measurement & setup (Head, Flow, Power, Temperature, Vibration, Displacement)
  • Knowledge of metrology and calibration process/procedures
  • Interpersonal and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of pump manufacturing and testing processes.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and mechanical fasteners
  • Creativity (i.e. the ability to approach problems in non-traditional fashion).
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to identify barriers to success and find solutions.

Pay: From $56,000.00 per year
