Do you know how to build models that respond to macroeconomic events? Can you build them while recognizing the broader picture and enhance them according to change and demand?

We're looking for Quantitative Modeling Manager to:

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of model development including project scoping, data collection and cleaning, model building, testing, and implementation, and performance tracking.
  • Obtain data from source systems and conduct data sanity/integrity check for model development.
  • Help with the development and maintenance of internal quantitative software libraries.
  • Perform quantitative and statistical analysis on large and complex datasets to extract key insights.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to understand key business metrics and their drivers to gain the knowledge needed to successfully model behavior.
  • Help with developing quantitative models to forecast balance, yield and other business metrics to facilitate planning as well as for CCAR stress testing.
  • Help with recalibrating models periodically to incorporate latest data, redeveloping models as performance or aging triggers are tripped
  • Help with the preparation of detailed model documents, governance documents and presentations for various parties.

Your team

You’ll be working as part of in the GWMA Banking Quantitative Analysis and Data Science team within Business Partnering (WMA Division) supporting the UBS Bank USA (BUSA) legal entity, which is part of Global Wealth Management Americas (GWMA).

Your expertise

  • 3-5 years of experience in quantitative modeling roles in the Financial Services industry (PPNR modeling, stress testing, risk modeling experience preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in large and complex data handling (panel data/time series data), statistical analysis and econometric modeling.
  • 3-5 years of programming experience in SAS, SQL, R, etc. (python and machine learning libraries a plus). Knowledge of principles of software development cycle (requirements analysis, version control, unit tests, etc.) also useful.
  • Strong statistical and econometric modeling skills (logistic/linear regression, mixed model, generalized linear model, time series model, and segmentation analysis). Knowledge of statistical/machine learning a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with model estimation and statistical analysis techniques (ordinary least square, maximum likelihood, Monte Carlo simulation, cluster analysis, decision tree analysis, etc.).
  • Graduate or post-graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Self-starter, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver solid action oriented results under tight deadline.
  • Excellent problem solving analytical skills, detail-orientation, independent thinking, organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate assumptions, methods, and results to peers and management.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and high-level of attention to detail.

Salary information

New York City based roles only - The salary range in NYC for this role will be $125,000 to $150,000 based on experience, education and skill level of the candidate. The role may be eligible for discretionary annual incentive compensation.
