Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking detail & quality minded individuals to join our Quality Assurance Team.

JOB SUMMARY:

Associate analyzes and solves quality problems, operates lab equipment including instrument calibration, and assists in special projects and studies. Individual will be responsible for communicating quality standards and for providing technical assistance, as well as, coordinating data base management relevant to quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide an effective and competent solution to quality problems and to assist other quality control personnel to prevent major problems from occurring. Initiate and monitor corrective action.
• Perform 100% layouts, verify engineering changes and any dimensions needed to ensure quality products, operate color meters, weather meters melt-flow plastometers, saws, personal computer and computer terminals, Gardner Impact Tester, scales, etc.
• Process relevant daily information including input into appropriate computer programs, and output of relevant information on quality costs and productivity. Develop, maintain, and input part numbers, bills-of-material, part routings, and production standards. Ensures proper information distribution and effective report formatting for comprehensive overview to appropriate personnel.
• Calibrate all precision instruments and keep an accurate record of calibrations.
• Assist in special projects and studies. Perform any special dimensional checks or product tests as directed by the Quality Control Manager.
• Communicate quality standards to inspection and manufacturing personnel. Assist in the training of production operators.
• Provide technical assistance to technicians and supervisors as needed.
• Ensure that all shipments received are as described in proper documentation; all shipments are correct and complete, or exceptions are noted
• Report any safety violations or issues to the supervisor immediately for prompt resolution. Help promote good housekeeping with assigned area through participation in assigned 5S zone(s).
• Work closely with departmental supervisor on daily priorities to eliminate obstacles that would prevent product getting to the customer in a timely manner. Provide support as needed to ensure 100% accuracy and ensure customer satisfaction
• Inform departmental supervisor when caught up to assist in other areas as needed
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
• Maintain supplies at workstation.
• Use assigned timecard daily to accurately record time worked.
• Attend weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings, if required.
• Actively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on location.
• Notify department supervisor if proper tools are not furnished to complete job functions.
• Assist in quality responsibilities of other Quality Department personnel including filling in during absences and vacations.
