QA Inspector – Long Island, NY – $19-$21/HR – M-F (1st-Shift) – Onsite - EXCELLENT Benefits - Direct Hire!
JOB SUMMARY:
With general supervision, inspects all incoming textile products, including upholstery, wallcovering, window covering, leather, and rugs and other products on QA Inspection Hold.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Inspects all upholstery fabrics or wall covering on QA Inspection Hold
- Inspects select international / consignment orders prior to shipping
- Inspects all sample replacement orders
- Inspects all Quality returns (RA’s) from the field
- Enters detailed inspection report information on all orders inspected
- Physically lifts and/or moves all bolts required to perform inspection
- Maintains, cleans, and washes down test wall
- Maintains and keep test hang area clean
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of defect nomenclature
- Know how to run inspection frame
- Know how to operate high/low
- Work independently
- Good sense of color and must be able to differentiate between shades of the same color
- Must be able to recognize variation in color / shade, and will be tested on their ability to discern color / shade variation within the same pattern
- Must be physically able to lift bolts of fabric and wall coverings
- The candidate will be trained in current ERP system and will need to perform their QA Inspections within this system
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
