The Trustees is one of Massachusetts’ largest non-profits and the nation’s first conservation and preservation organization. We manage, protect and share almost 100 irreplaceable, natural and historic properties across New England, including Castle Hill and the Crane Estate, World’s End and the deCordova Sculpture Park & Museum, to name but a few.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Campaign Strategy and Development Operations, the Prospect Research Manager (PRM) will build on the highest standards of traditional fundraising research, while also encompassing new trends in prospect research and data coordination. This highly organized self-starter will help build the Trustees of the future by identifying the next generation of Trustees supporters and supporting our team with the information necessary to cultivate and steward our current and potential donors.

In this role, you will:

  • Successfully multi-task, juggling rapidly changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Review, research and interpret data and facts into recommendations and compelling narratives for all existing and potential donors, including event attendees, governance prospects, etc.

  • Perform database searches, scan data appends, wealth screenings, and data updates of other relevant material to help us segment and analyze our donors

  • Provide timely and accurate research reports and supporting collateral material for all Officers, Vice-President and President & CEO individualized meetings, events, committee meetings and governance discussions

  • Manage corporate research, supplementing CSR and corporate giving information with individual profiles of key executives and contacts


The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years in a similar position, as well as:

  • A proven ability to think on their feet and fix last-minute problems quickly
  • A willingness to work nights and weekends as needed during busy periods
  • Frontline fundraising experience a big plus
  • Be able to travel to events in Massachusetts

This is a full-time position with benefits based at our Boston, MA headquarters with the option to work remotely 2-3 days/week.
