DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will lead the Steelmaking Project Quality team. You will ensure that our Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers and installation contractors meet our rigorous quality standards, to ensure a world class project is delivered..

The Basics:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, a Technical Degree, or a combination of education and experience
• 5+ years demonstrated experience supporting engineering , equipment and construction quality requirements in a steel mill, or other heavy industrial environment
• Extensive knowledge of OEM equipment inspections standards and procedures
• Extensive Knowledge of construction (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Fluid/piping systems and electrical testing and standards
• Experience with managing third party quality inspections, including the inspection planning for international suppliersExperience setting up non-conformance reporting and holding suppliers and contractors accountable for those non-compliancesAbility to work with and/or lead people to achieve positive results
• Ability to execute all elements of the Process and Product Quality Control Process, including leading a team through the following sub-processes:
  • Quality Planning, Quality Control, and Continuous Improvement
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Lead a hybrid team of AM/NS employees, contractors, EPCM staff and others to ensure all aspects of the project quality policies are met or exceeded
• Setup and manage an outside inspection team for OEM inspections; participate as needed in these inspections. These inspection will be both domestic and international
• Owners of the Project Quality policies and standards
• Work with the EPCM contractor and others to ensure that construction quality standards are met.
• Lead the non-conformance report process to ensure prompt action and correction of quality issues.

• Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
• Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
• Weekend Coverage on occasion
