Position Description

There has never been a more exciting time to join the Corporate Power team at Color Of Change, where we are on the front lines of some of the most critical fights of our time—from voting rights to police accountability.

Working closely with the Vice President of Corporate Power. this role will (i) coordinate and project manage the workflows of all team members in the Vice President's Office, including supporting office operations and managing general requests of the Vice President, (ii) drive special projects and/or events on behalf of the Vice President and her team, and (iii) play a proactive role in identifying gaps and making recommendations to improve existing processes and systems in the Campaigns Department.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, technology-fluent, detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in racial and social justice issues who is excited to bring their talents and acumen to bear in a fast-paced, collaborative, and strategic growth-focused environment. In short, this team member will play a vital role in ensuring the systems are in place and functioning for the rapidly growing Campaigns Department to win real-world victories for Black people.


Responsibilities

  • Project Management for the Vice President's Office
  • Enable the organization to seize fast-developing opportunities for impact by taking meeting notes and clearly translating meeting notes into outlines for project management to advance project work with internal and external partners.
  • Manage project workflows within the Vice President's Office and throughout the campaigns team to ensure we are meeting important deadlines to meet the Vice President's vision across key initiatives.
  • Own daily, weekly, and quarterly workflow digests ensuring all requests for the Vice President's review, feedback, and input are triaged, tracked, and communicated accordingly.
  • Engage regularly with staff across the campaigns team to understand existing cross-team workflows and identify opportunities for support from the Vice President's Office.
  • Event Management & Special Projects
  • Project-manage execution of special projects, engagements, and events in collaboration with the Deputy Senior Advisor, Senior Advisor, and Executive Assistant to the Vice President, along with other internal and external stakeholders (e.g., COC convenings, board meetings, internal/external meetings, retreats, etc.)
  • Manage project management software (Monday.com) within the campaign team to improve collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain a system to effectively track and manage the Vice President's media and event requests.
  • Monitor anniversaries and special occasions to support relationship management.
  • Partner with the Executive Assistant to the Vice President to support the Vice President’s portfolio of activities and travel/personal needs.
  • Create an organizational system for the Vice President's google drive and develop a system to readily find important documents.
  • Travel independently and/or with the Vice President, Senior Advisor, or teams (up to 30%)
  • Any other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Dedication to the mission of Color Of Change: to help people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us, moving decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated experience prioritizing competing projects and multi-tasking across a broad spectrum of collaborators based in various office locations or working remotely.
  • Strong, active listening skills to identify themes and synthesize key information critical to improving organizational systems.
  • Ability to quickly map out project plans, including timelines, key performance indicators, and ownership of responsibilities
  • A proactive approach for identifying opportunities for improvement, as well as removing barriers to implementation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate a vision confidently in a way that motivates others.
  • Familiarity with project management technologies that can be leveraged to make the work more efficient
  • Proficiency in GSuite applications, including Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar
  • Deep commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information while exercising appropriate discretion across a range of important internal and external relationships

COMPENSATION
The salary for the Project Manager position is $76,000 - $79,800. This is a full-time, exempt position. Color Of Change also offers a competitive benefits package.
