Overview of Job Description
The Project Construction Manager is a hands-on management role of all phases of mixed-use, multi-family and commercial projects. Responsible for coordination of the full range of members of the team on each project: fellow associates, design professionals, construction managers and contractors, vendors and material suppliers, and jurisdictional representatives (permitting, inspections), ensuring that cost, schedule and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate must take initiative, assume ownership, and work collaboratively to achieve results. They will be deadline-driven and detail-oriented to prevent potential issues as work progresses.
This position is located in the Company’s Regional Offices in Sayreville, NJ.
Duties and Responsibilities
In order to perform daily duties and responsibilities, the Project Construction Manager - Riverton must:

  • Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple construction projects with the project team.
  • Collaborate with design consultants to determine project specifications which are translated into clear and detailed trade scopes of work.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, reporting to owner about progress and any necessary modifications of scope, budget and schedule impacts.
  • Proactively identify changes in project scope and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
  • Develop logical and cost-effective scheduling for project completion, determining resource needs and coordinate material deliveries.
  • Administer Submittal and RFI Review process between Subcontractors/Suppliers and design team, verifying adherence to contractual obligations, plans and specifications.
  • Distribute information to contractors and vendors, including drawings, layouts, submittals and specifications.
  • Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts, including review of change orders for client approval, and review of monthly invoices.
  • Conduct project meetings and delegate tasks to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Assure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) project standards are met and properly documented by managing 3rd party inspectors and consultants.
  • Collaborate with local and state governing agencies and consultants for the approval of necessary permits and licenses.

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in mixed-use, multi-family and/or commercial construction
  • Understanding of construction procedures and management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, being flexible to handle changing priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong management skills and ability to work productively with others to foster exceptional client relationships.
  • Adept at identifying, investigating, and quantifying project problems to propose corresponding alternatives and consequences.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a positive focus to solve problems.
  • Proficient with reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

Physical Requirements
Majority of work time will be spent in an office environment. Candidate should be able to meet the following physical requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Standing up to 8 hours a day, may include in an outdoor environment
  • Sitting up to 8 hours a day
  • Walking up to 8 hours a day
  • Bending up to 4 hours a day
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to use a computer up to 8 hours a day
  • Communicating verbally in person and on telephone
