Job Summary:

Manages the daily implementation of out-come-driven Graduation Plus programming in the Education & Career core service area. Responsible for recruiting the sites, coordinating the schedules, and working with the appropriate Club staff at the site. Assisting with budget Management, participant data, and reports as needed. .

Responsibilities:

  • Organizes, directs and supervises: the daily implementation of program delivery, including staffing, program scheduling, workflow, building access and program implementation space needs for the Sponsor-A-Scholar & Stein Scholars College Access & Success Programs, and assists with support of other Graduation Plus College Access & Success Services Programs.
  • Manages the program staff and volunteers according to the policies to the policies and procedures developed by BGCGM.
  • Ensure compliance for program contracts including those with community partners, and private and public funders.
  • Manage Internal and External student scholarship application processes.
  • Oversee case management of close to 300 high school students, and 400 college students annually.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of program implementation and prepares timely reports.
  • Adheres to the Club’s loss-control and risk-management program and reports accidents and losses (verbally and in writing) to the Club Manager and Supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all issues and incidents related to membership/program participant management.
  • Implements program events to recruit new participants, reward existing frequent attendees, and provide community networking opportunities with other youth-sharing programs.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of the annual budget.
  • Monitors monthly budget report for the program, and take action upon discovery of a revenue or expense variance.
  • Manages and oversees grant-related expenditures and other program deliverables related to funding.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Greater Milwaukee-related networks, and maintain community visibility and collaborative relationships.
  • Supports fundraising efforts of the organization and assists with site visits.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with Milwaukee Public Schools, United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, Burke Foundation, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Martin F. Stein Trust, Northwestern Mutual, We-Energies, and other partners affiliated with Graduation Plus College Access & Success Services.
  • Use reporting tools for monitoring and tracking accountabilities related to program implementation.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports as requested.
  • Must meet all deadlines.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff within the program.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to ensure proper and timely communication.
  • Communicate critical information associated with program implementation.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluation process for all direct reports utilizing the format instituted by the Human Resource department.
  • Responsible for ensuring the program achieves deliverables and outcomes.
  • Must participate in required training by the Club, County, State, and/or funders.
  • Accountable for monitoring staff training requirements and ensuring staff attends required training.
  • Assist with the facilitation of Core Area Meetings and effectively provides support from Program Support Team.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities as required by agency, funders, and BGCGM administration.
  • Assisting with the management of AmeriCorps Grant, Recruiting, and implementation of Diplomas 2 Degrees Programming at high school-aged sites, and supervision of College Coaches
  • Assist with the facilitation and coordination of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee Scholarships

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Leadership, Business or another related field required
  • Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education, Counseling or a related field preferred

Experience Requirements:

At least two years of college access and successful programming implementation
  • At least two years in facilitating, or managing student financial aid applications and renewals, and processes and understanding and administering of financial aid award letters, financial aid verifications, and scholarship distribution
  • At least two years of facilitating the college admissions process including, but not limited to the college application process, college acceptance/rejection/waitlist process, and the process of helping students understand college fit
  • At least two years of supervisory experience with professionals, students, and partners
  • At least two years of understanding and using program databases
  • At least two years of experience with large-scale event planning
  • CPR Certification (Adult, Child, and Infant) preferred or attend and successfully complete certification within the first six months of employment.
  • At least three years of proven experience in the delivery of youth work and youth work-led programming for young people between the ages of 15-23


Skills:

  • Fiscal management skills and the ability to create and monitor a budget.
  • High level of creativity and problem-solving ability. Demonstrated examples of managing through the crisis.
  • Computer literacy and ability to utilize Excel and agency software for tracking budgets and attendance. Ability to learn and utilize new technologies and apply technology to communication, logistics, and other key job tasks.
  • Ability to inspire and empower youth as they participate in programs that address both the needs and interest of the members served.
  • Must have a valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meets state-required automobile insurance minimums.
