  • Serve as young adult service program counselor for the young adults (18-25) w/ adult straight-time sentences in the restoring promise unit at lee ci.
  • Assists in coordinating, planning, facilitating education, recreational, personal enrichment & therapeutic activities and supportive individualized counseling services to include orientation, assess, individual, group & family engagement wks w/ young adult family members & supporters to build community spt. provides treatment recs & refs for young adults to ensure prescribed treatment including medical & behavioral are provided.
  • Documents all initial orient and assess, crisis interventions, & other support services w/n automated record system & young adult record in accordance w/ young adult services policy & standards.
  • Assists w/ accountability review boards & all assigned institutional boards as needed.
  • Assists in providing program develop & training for uniform/non-uniform staff as directed.
  • Under supervision of young adult services program coordinator works with unit manager & counselors to ensure goals are met by staff/mentors and young adults.
Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree and professional experience in human services or social services programs.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One (1) year experience working in a Human Services, Social Services/Mental Health and/or correctional setting.
