Silicon Carbide Products, Inc. is a manufacturer of advanced wear ceramics located in Horseheads, NY. We provide our high performance custom ceramics to various industries globally. With an influx of new customers coming to Silicon Carbide Products, inc. for product, we are looking to add to our team. Silicon Carbide Products, Inc. is looking for employees who exemplify accuracy, detail, and good communication skills.

Perform production tasks which may include casting, green finishing, tooling, mixing, in- process inspection, furnace loading/unloading and/or packaging/shipping in accordance with established work instructions and procedures. Able to regularly meet item master objectives. Follow production schedule and communicate to Lead/Supervisor if falling behind schedule.

Identify and report quality issues. Assist in other areas of the shop, including 5S, preventative maintenance and inventory responsibilities, as required. Train temporary employees on basic job functions. All work must follow established safety/health/environmental and company policies, processes and guidelines. Ability to work flexible hours and be regularly available for overtime as required. Supervision required is moderate (initially) to limited.

Knowledge and Skill:

· High School graduate or equivalent

· 3-6 months in a manufacturing or hands on work environment preferred

· Manual dexterity

· Team oriented outlook

· Detail oriented

· Able to follow instruction

· Ability to learn basic blueprint reading and caliper measurements

· Basic Data Entry Skills

· Ability to keep accurate records

· Ability to learn new skills and apply to new situations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
