Process Technician / CNC Programmer

Job Description

MIBA Industrial Bearings U.S. is a global leader in the design and manufacture of hydro-dynamic bearings. Working for MIBA, based in Grafton WI, the candidate will be responsible to support the strategic growth of the hydrodynamic bearings product line.

BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is accountable to prepare all documentation such as routings, process drawings and bills of material for production. In addition, the Process Technician / CNC Programmer will be responsible for designing tools and fixtures and prepare programs for complex machining operations on CNC machine tools in accordance with standards and instructions.

The Process Technician / CNC Programmer is expected to behave ethically, work safely and as a team, and focus on our customer satisfaction.

This position reports to the Lead Process Engineering Technician/CNC Programmer.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Review all drawings for production use – detail and clarify where necessary and detail and document special process requirements.
  • Review bills of material and material requirements for production.
  • Write process routings; establish operations sequence and production standards.
  • Provide process drawings for shop use.
  • Design tools and fixtures.
  • Review all order revision notices that contain a change in drawings and update programs as required.
  • Analyze operations per established routings; establish sequences, tooling, etc. for programming CNC machine tools.
  • Prepare CNC programs using the machine tools, tooling, fixtures available to produce the best process available.
  • Maintain libraries and standards.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager, Operations Leads and Operators to establish optimum methods of operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Requires high school education, minimum 2 years technical schooling or 5 years experience in machine shop practice.
  • US Citizenship or lawful permanent resident of the US is required.
  • Strong knowledge of machining, specifically milling and turning.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of NC programming methods and language (G-Code)
  • Previous experience with CAM, CAD and ERP/MRP software
  • Must be a self-starter, lead and be able to work in a team environment, and perform a variety of duties without loss of efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums.
  • Solid knowledge and experiences of Operational systems and best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office product and computer proficiency
  • Limited travel required: up to 10%.

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
