SUMMARY
Assist in activities in preschool classroom and preschool center. Work with typically developing children, children with disabilities, and interact with various preschool staff. Cover breaks for Lead Teachers and Associate Teachers.

  • Cover breaks for preschool staff.
  • Engage in activities with preschool children in the classroom and on the playground.
  • Interact with preschool staff including, but not limited to, Lead Teachers, Associate Teachers and Food Service Workers.
  • Cleaning duties as assigned.


EDUCATION

  • This position requires a High School Diploma or GED.


EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 1-year experience working with preschool age children.



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain confidential when exposed to sensitive information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and demonstrate flexibility.


PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of school districts and community.
  • Experience working with Head Start/GSRP families.
  • CPR certified.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers.


The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
