Job Title: Flex Machine Operator (Pre-Processing)

Job Summary

The starting rate of pay for this position is $23.24 per hour. This is an end of week day shift (Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday) from 7:00am-7:00pm.

Hiring Bonus Terms:

• Hiring Bonus is for $1,000 dollars
• Employees must be employed at the time of payout
• Hiring bonus is paid out in two separate installments; $500 at 90 days and $500 at 180 days for a total of $1000.00 dollars.

A Flex Machine Operator for Materne, North Ameria is responsible for learning how to operate various machines on different high speed production lines (i.e crusher, mixer/cooker, packaging equipment,ect). This position will be used for coverage in the event of an absence and will assist with quality issues, sanitation and projects as needed.

Position Responsibilites:

• Operation of Apple Dumping/Bertocchi/Red Fruit machines
  • Read schematics and diagrams to monitor machine activity (flow,machine status, temperature settings, level indication)
  • Operate capture tank fill station and monitor filling
  • Clean capture tanks as needed
  • Perform consumption transactions on the computer (VIF)
  • Work with computer interface to monitor raw material usage
  • Monitor and record production yield and waste
  • Must be able to qualify as a level 1 on machines in two different areas
• Monitor materials to identify contamination or foreigh materials
• Inspect product as it moves through manufacturing process for quality
• Conduct quality testing and record data in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform troubleshooting and basic maintenance of equipment
• Operate industial carts, power hand carts, and forklifts in a sage manner
• Break down machinery with hand tools to clean and sanitize
• Complete daily paperwork and reports

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for an entire shift(8-12 hours)
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
• Must be able to walk up & down stairs multiple times per shift

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical /Trade school preferred

Experience:

• Prior experience working as a Machine Operator or similar position in a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience working in the food industry is preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to plan work and anticipate problems
• Mechanical aptitude
• Computer skills (data entry & experience with an ERP system in a production environment preferred)

• Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures (must be able to take.record measurements and understand tare weight)
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles sun as 5S
