ABOUT THE JOB

Hawkins is looking for a Production Supervisor at our facility in Camanche, IA. This position is responsible for leading and supporting all processing, packaging, material handling, and distribution functions in the plant. This includes direct supervision of production, warehouse and maintenance employees; regulatory compliance; capacity planning, scheduling and execution; inventory management; OpEx management and cost control; performance tracking and reporting; employee staffing, training and development; and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise manufacturing, inspections and maintenance in a regulated facility (ex. PSM/RMP, SQF etc.)
  • Uphold Hawkins Incorporated’s standard of excellence through a continuous commitment of providing quality products and services to internal and external customers
  • Train, support, and supervise direct reports
  • Manage operation budget, inventory levels and variable expenses
  • Serve as Incident Commander
  • Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health regulations

ABOUT YOU

  • BS in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience as a project/process engineer in a chemical manufacturing environment or related facility.
  • Experience in all areas of capital projects, including front-end design, estimating and funding requests; project engineering, construction support.
  • Working knowledge of all design and regulatory standards (ISO, SQF, Lean Manufacturing, 5S)
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook) required; previous MRP or ERP experience preferred
  • Ability to work a non-standard workweek, including weekends and on-call as necessary
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching and pulling
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while using stairs and ladders
  • Ability to safety operate an industrial forklift when required
  • Ability to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, gloves and hard hat, chemical suit and/or hair/beard net when required
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around chemicals and industrial machinery
