Loyola University Maryland invites applications for an adjunct teaching position for EG 380: Thermodynamics in Spring 2023 (1/17/2023 – 5/11/2023).

EG 380 is a course for sophomores concentrating in Mechanical Engineering.
  • EG 380: Thermodynamics Course Description: Examines the relationships among heat, work, and various other forms of energy in engineering applications. Covers thermodynamic systems, property evaluation, phase changes, equations of state, the first and second laws of thermodynamics, the Carnot cycle, entropy, and power and refrigeration cycles.
Required Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Ph.D. candidates may be considered if they have extensive prior teaching experience.
  • A strong interest in teaching undergraduates.
  • A willingness to respond to feedback and work collaboratively with multiple instructors.
  • An interest and/or demonstrated skills in high-impact teaching practices.
  • An interest and/or knowledge in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred.
  • Industry or research expertise that matches the course content.
