About this position

This position works within the agency’s cross-functional Fiscal Department that oversees the accounting and payroll responsibilities for 850 staff and multiple state- and federally funded programs across the San Gabriel Valley. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with an upbeat, positive attitude who is eager to support the agency’s mission and achieve its strategic goals.

What you’ll be doing

  • Reviewing timesheets to ensure accuracy and process semi-monthly payroll;
  • Preparing journal entries for each payroll;
  • Ensuring accurate data is imported into payroll system;
  • Assisting payroll manager with reporting and Workers’ Compensation;
  • Conducting payroll deduction reconciliation;
  • Researching and assisting with employee payroll issues;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field;
  • Two years of experience in accounting or related fields;
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel;
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
