Patient Registrar - Per Diem - Emergency Department - Nights
The Patient Registrars are responsible for greeting and registering the patient in a tactful and courteous manner. They obtain all pertinent patient demographics, insurance information and regulatory signatures. These are critical data points that enable correct billing and timely payment to the hospital; as well as, clinical staff with pertinent patient information. (i.e. pharmacy). In addition, the registrars have begun photo capture and MyChart sign-up in an effort to increase patient safety. The registrars collect payments for deductibles and copayments. This position is in the Central Admitting department.
This a per diem position, Saturday and Sunday every other weekend, and is located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center's David H. Koch Center.
Preferred Criteria
- Some college
- Knowledge of health insurance benefits/requirements
Required Criteria
- High School diploma or GED
- One year of clerical experience
- Effective communication skills
