Packaging Technician (Cannabis Industry) Job at Vangst

Packagers are an essential role to the success of ou client. They can take direction and feedback; and can perform entry level manufacturing and
packaging tasks including, but not limited to adhering labels, portioning, and weighing of bulk inventory, and working
with a team to accomplish department production goals. This is a physical team-based position; you will be required to
be on your feet during shift and to work with others in a professional and respectful manner.
All 12 Peaks Farms team members must adhere to state regulations and corporate standards. Successful team members
demonstrate a high level of professionalism, work cooperatively and collaboratively with other departments, and
assume accountability for compliance, performance, and overall behavior.
This position reports to a Manufacturing Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance
  • Comply with all HR policies and employee handbook including punctuality, confidentiality, leave procedures and

treating others with dignity and respect * Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Contribute to a positive work environment
  • Helping in other departments as needed
  • All other duties associated with an agricultural and packaging operation as required

Arrive to work on time, physically, and mentally prepared to work * Able to take direction, follow a defined process, and take feedback from line supervisors, leads and facilitators

  • Capable of working positively with a team to achieve daily production goals and maintaining a positive attitude
  • Able to communicate in a respectful and professional manner

Valid Colorado MED Badge
Desired Experience:

  • Regulations require that applicants be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials
  • A Colorado MED is required to work in the Cannabis Industry
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant work experience in hydroponic vegetable production or bedding plant production facility is desired.
  • Prior nursery, landscaping, and/or agricultural experience preferred
  • Cannabis experience helpful
  • Experience with automation systems
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to work in a safety-aware environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e., trimming plants, potting, and regular inventory)

  • Strong ethics and sound judgment

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse environment with artificial lighting and ventilation
  • Potential for mold exposure
  • Potential for allergic reaction to or hypersensitivity to the marijuana plants
  • The warehouse is properly ventilated, however, marijuana cultivation produces ozone from the chemical reaction of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, such as terpenes that are given off from the marijuana plant. Terpenes and nitric oxides can be associated with eye, skin, and mucous irritation. In some people, ozone can cause decreased lung function and/or exacerbate pre-existing health effects, especially in workers with asthma or other respiratory complications. PPE in the form of respiratory protection may be recommended in certain parts of the warehouse
