Job Purpose:

The general focus of this position is to solicit parts and tarpaulin service business from accounts through personal and phone contacts.

The successful salesperson will source new sales opportunities and close sales to achieve quotas. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with clients, generating leads, identifying and qualifying prospects and managing sales of products and services. As an outside sales representative, they will also research sales competition. You will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary job duties and responsibilities are included but not limited to:

  • Advise or assist customers in such areas as inventory selection and control, service available, new products and services, etc.
  • Plan territory coverage and call upon key accounts (current and prospective) regularly.
  • Take parts orders, introduce new products and promotions, reemphasize existing products and services and provide literature as necessary.
  • "Get the Order” using various customer sales methods including: Cold Calling, Social Media, Telephone and established relationships.
  • Meet personal and team sales goals.
  • Maintain and expand CRM system for accuracy in your territory.
  • Devise successful sales & marketing strategies for your territory.
  • Present products or services to prospective and current customers.
  • Evaluate customer needs and wants to build long term sales relationships.
  • Monitor and document competition within assigned area and report findings.
  • Addition duties as necessary to support the sales department as a whole.
  • Think outside of the existing process to improve flow and accuracy of orders.
  • Manage account activity.
  • Promote tarpaulin services.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma, general education degree (GED), college degree from an accredited university or college. Two years of previous trailer sales experience can be accepted in lieu of formal education.
  • Previous sales experience required.
  • One year automotive, truck or trailer parts related experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer competency required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a MVR check.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily outside of the office.
  • Some regular office hours.

Physical Requirements:

  • General health conditions that enable employee to work a consistent schedule during the day.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
