Essential Functions:

• Operating a forklift to haul materials within the lumberyard and warehouse, which may include lifting up to 80 pounds. Forklift training and certification provided by 84 Lumber

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and observe all safety rules posted

• Making management aware of safety concerns

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations

• The desire to learn and master the job responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: This position involves working outdoors or being exposed to wet, humid, extremely hot or extremely cold conditions. May require working in a highly precarious place and near moving mechanical parts. There may be a risk of electrical shock. The position may be exposed to vibrations, airborne particles or toxic chemicals.

Physical Demands: This position involves frequently standing, walking, use of hands, reaching, talking, listening and writing. Periodically lifts up to 80 pounds, stoops, crouches. Rarely sit, climb, balance and crawl.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on hours of operations, willing to work 40+ hours per week.

Travel: This position does not require any travel.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• 3+ months related work experience and/or training a plus

• Knowledge of carpentry or experience with wood products a plus

Grooming/Uniform:

• It is an expectation the associate in this role is neatly groomed with good hygiene

• A uniform is required, which includes an 84 Lumber shirt, pants, boots, and any other PPE's as requested

Pay: Starting at $15/hour plus full benefits. Pay increase of up to $2/hour upon successful completion of probationary period. Overtime is typically available and paid at a rate of time and a half.

Schedule: Associate will work a 8.5 hour shift (30 minutes for lunch) between the hours of 1am and 4pm, Monday-Friday. Hours may vary depending on location/store.
