We are currently hiring for a full or part-time Ophthalmic Technician based out of our Fort Dodge Clinic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Document patients’ medical and ocular histories in electronic medical records.
- Perform patient workups.
- Complete diagnostic testing, such as retinoscopy, manual refraction, applanation A-scan, keratometry, tonometry, OCTs, and visual fields.
- Provide patient education according to physician instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel to other offices as needed.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Medical office experience required.
- Ophthalmic testing experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Experience providing excellent patient care.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and communicate concerns regarding the results of diagnostic testing.
Candidates must be available to travel as needed to clinics located in Ames, Ankeny, West Des Moines, Lake City, Marshalltown and Carroll. When traveling, mileage and time on the road will be compensated.
