Senior Offshore Study Manager to support our Consulting business in Houston, TX. The
Senior Offshore Study Manager will support the business in winning and executing a variety of early phase studies in all sectors of the Offshore Industry with strong focus on Offshore Facilities Design, Field Development and Energy Transition
Wood’s Energy Consulting team focuses on advising clients, investors, and asset owners on making the right investment decisions for their projects or assets. This team has the skills, experience, and creativity to add value from the earliest screening or conceptual phases through to the establishment of a robust basis of design in the pre-FEED stage, ready for FEED. The remit of Energy Consulting is to win and execute studies such as due diligence, gap analysis, feasibility, concept select and pre-FEED in the areas of Upstream, Midstream and Downstream oilDownstream oil and gas sectors, including Decarbonization initiatives such as Carbon Capture, Hydrogen production and other emerging technologies. The Energy Consulting team makes use of the global Wood resources network to provide technical expertise needed for almost any challenge.

Responsibilities
- Lead team efforts in the Offshore / Upstream business and emerging Decarbonization initiatives
- Commercial and technical management of studies and consulting engagements
- Support Company’s business development efforts in pursue of new consulting opportunities
- Development of proposals and winning work
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs, drivers and objectives, and develop and execute projects to meet these needs
- Prepare technical proposals covering scopes of work, study schedules, and deliverables lists among others.
- Prepare project execution plans and technical reports
- Work multiple studies at the same time without missing milestones
- Setting clear technical direction to the study team
- Lead, manage and coordinate the execution of studies through collaboration with multidiscipline study teams
- Understand and propose wider business goals and guide the input and decision making for the Consulting group
- Create a solid professional network within Wood and our partners
- Engineering Degree, Professional Engineer and/or PMP Registration preferred
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience with oil and gas projects in a project management, project engineering, or discipline lead role
- Strong overall understanding of offshore production facilities, both process and mechanical including utility systems
- Strong understanding of offshore facility types and configurations, both fixed and floating units
- Strong understanding of offshore construction and operations
- Strong overall general engineering skills and broad multidiscipline experience
- Demonstrated history of front-end engineering studies including cost estimating, scheduling, and project contracting strategies.
- Demonstrated history of leading offshore topsides configuration and layout studies, debottlenecking studies and due diligence engagements
- Excellent oral and written communication and client facing skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate with multidiscipline/multicultural study teams
- Experience in preparation of robust technical reports
- Strong computer skills, MS Office as well as graphics tools used in early phase studies
- Good understanding of project controls and project financial reporting
- Must be US Citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood.
