Shift Supervisor - Registered Nurse, Part Time, Long Term Care

Who we are: We are a team of caregivers and nursing support staff who provide an enriching and compassionate environment to the Adrian Dominican Sisters in their home at the Dominican Life Center, our nursing/retirement home environment on the Adrian Dominican Sisters Motherhouse campus. The Dominican Life Center, our continuum of care facility, has 180 beds in private rooms and we provide long term care to Sisters who are in assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing communities. Pay: starts at 33.32/hr. plus 1.50/hr. shift differential, plus overtime after 8 hours a day.

Hours: 2nd shift, weekday shifts are 3p - 7:30p. This position requires working every other weekend and some holidays which are 12 hour shifts 7a - 7:30p. You will be scheduled between 40-63 hrs. /per 2 week pay period.

What you will be doing:

• Promote quality care by monitoring the nursing care of residents and supervising and managing between 20-25 nursing personnel such as LPN's, RN's and Nursing Assistants.
• Make recommendations and work with Director of Nursing or Resident Care Manager regarding resident room placement, room changes, admissions, level of care.
• Participate in counseling nurses and nursing assistants on assigned shift when necessary.
• Assist in replacement of call-ins for nursing co-workers and prepare monthly schedule for assigned shift.

What you need: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Interest in geriatric nursing. 3-5 years previous experience in a long term care facility or geriatric field preferred. Supervisory experience.

Physical: Must be able to walk 8 hours. Must be able to perform bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting 50 lbs. without assistance, on a regular basis. Must be in generally good health to provide immunity to common communicable organisms. Must be sighted and capable of hearing. Flu and covid vaccination required.
