Night Operations Supervisor

We are a large beverage distributor in Central New York hiring a full time Night Operations Supervisor and are accepting resumes.

Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership to a team of 20 on the company’s night shift, ensuring that orders are picked, shuttle truck transfers occur and delivery trucks are loaded in a timely fashion:

  • Ensure Safety, Quality and Efficiency standards are delivered on a day-in and day-out basis.
  • Ensure processes, technology and equipment are operating as designed and correct / problem solve issues as they occur. When necessary, work with equipment and system vendors to resolve issues.
  • Establish and track performance versus targets.
  • Continuously monitor both daily operations and employee performance.
  • Coach to improve employee and company performance. Recognize and reward success.
  • Develop and use incentives to drive performance.
  • Organize and lead monthly team meetings including topics like safety training, performance summaries, upcoming changes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure facility is secured at completion of shift.

Ensure a smooth transition between shifts and communicate performance of night operations to the organization. Prepare and compile reports, as necessary.

Participate in the formal HR processes (includes crewing standards, employee evaluation, hiring / firing, incentive development, etc.). Train employees as they come on board.

Continuously evaluate the operation for opportunities that will drive our business.

Requirements

Passion for the beverage business.

Ability to work with and learn state-of-the-art picking equipment and technology. Includes automated picking and sorting equipment, mobile picking technology and warehousing systems.

Sense of urgency and commitment to achieving results in an environment that is both challenging and rewarding.

This is a relationship driven business and requires exceptional customer service skills. You must be personable, out-going, organized and self-motivated.

Ability to work both drive a team, and work independently, while under pressure to deliver operations goals.

5 years leadership experience in an operations / warehouse environment.

Outstanding influence skills – ability to influence key decision makers across all functions and levels, to drive results.

College degree preferred. High School diploma or GED equivalent is minimum requirement.

Sound knowledge of computers and PC’s.
