The Calhoun School, a leading progressive, independent, co-educational day school in Manhattan, seeks a full time Network and Systems Administrator to begin as soon as possible.

Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for all aspects of Calhoun’s network infrastructure and adjacent systems across multiple campuses. Such platforms include the wireless network infrastructure, server hardware (both physical and virtual), VOIP system, and various mobile device management systems. In addition to these responsibilities, additional support with other IT requirements may be necessary, from time to time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS*

Install, support, and maintain internet connectivity, firewall, virtual, local, and wireless networks.

• Responsible for management of user/device domains, including, but not limited to, Active Directory, Google Workspace for Education, Apple School Manager

• Supports and manages the Mobile Device Management solution, JAMF Pro, for all macOS and iOS devices

• Collaborates with departmental and school leadership to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning as it relates to technology

• Participates in lifecycle and strategic planning of infrastructure hardware/software upgrades/replacements in partnership with the Director of Technology

• Assists with evaluations of new software & hardware, including integration and interoperability with existing systems and infrastructure

• Participates in cyber security planning and implementation, ensuring infrastructure, data, and users are protected from potential risks

• Writing internal technical documentation and end-user documentation

• Support Calhoun Faculty and Staff as a member of the IT Support team

• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology and school leadership team

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

5+ years of IT experience

• Demonstrable knowledge of network infrastructure, hardware and software protocols

• Advanced technical knowledge of Apple computers, mobile devices. MacOS, iOS, Jamf Pro, Microsoft Windows Clients & Servers, OSX Scripting, Fortinet, Meraki Network Switching, Active Directory & Google Workspace.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sometimes work in tight spaces
