Perform the duties required for application of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields having full technical responsibility for interpreting, coordinating, and executing the assignments. Independently make decisions to identify and define the scope of engineering problems, select the appropriate investigative methods, and apply both known and novel techniques for developing a solution. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work results from a university education combined with several years of progressive experience. Supervision and guidance is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Self-directed consultation with subject matter experts is required to fulfill the requirements of and advance within the position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

1. As an individual researcher or worker, carry out assignments with minimal direction, requiring one to conceive, plan and conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity, requiring the application of existing techniques, procedures, and scientific methods typical to the related field.

2. Use project management techniques suitable for producing products or processes in a timely fashion.

3. Independently solve technical problems analytically or empirically.

4. Review the work of drafting or engineering records as it relates to a specific project.

5. Serve as a technical specialist for the organization (division or company) for an assigned area of responsibilities, i.e., subject matter, function, type of facility or equipment, or product.

6. Independently design and develop mechanical systems or modify designs to improve product value

7. As appropriate, create mechanical components, assemblies, and diagrams using 3-D solid modeling or 2-D CAD software

8. Follow regulatory standards in the design of compliant mechanical systems

Requirements

1. Mechanical Engineering degree and/or equivalent experience, 7-10 years, in Machining, Machining Design and machining Programming

2. 3-7 years experience in Machine Design.

3. Innovative/creative mindset capable of providing customized solutions for customers in machine design.
