Mackay has an opening for a Marine Electronics Technician (MET) in our Jacksonville, FL location.

Marine Electronics Technician Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, the Marine Electronics Technician (MET) (also referred to as 'technician') will install, service, and repair marine electronic equipment on board ships. The technician will test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, and antennas as well as, loading, updating, and modifying software. The MET will utilize his/her knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems. The technician will make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments and upon completion, compose a detailed service report.

Marine Service Engineer Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience as a MET, ET, or AT in the commercial shipping industry and/or acquired in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines.
  • Some college preferred or equivalent training and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
  • Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
  • Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation is required.

Pay: $26.00 - $42.00 per hour
