DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manufacturing Value Stream Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and resource stewardship for a high-volume manufacturing site located in West Sacramento, CA. This role is accountable for driving timely and impactful improvements to the culture and work environment and for delivering performance at or above expectations for service, cost, safety, and quality.

They are change agents, effective communicators, and show personal resilience. This position reports to the Area Operations Manager.

  • Direct and coordinate the execution of manufacturing operations and schedules based on sales requirements and value stream capacity
  • Create a work environment where employees are energized, excited and motivated to continuously improve value stream processes, delight our customers and accomplish both individual and team goals and objectives
  • Use daily management metrics and control charts to conduct fact-based analysis of current state and propose solutions to treat root causes
  • Champion Rapid Problem Solving and accountability through the value stream
  • Identify and implement ways of working that make lean thinking and employee engagement a way of life in the plant
  • Take responsibility for the safety and security of the people who work in our business, the products we supply to customers, and the company’s physical assets; identify, assess, and address any immediate safety and security issues
  • Drive simplification efforts within the site, particularly those manufacturing activities “draining” the operations cost structure
  • Use qualitative and quantitative approaches to forecasting labor demand and mix. Answer how many employees will we need and at what skill level
  • Ensure everyone is working against the right priorities, participating, and putting their skills and experience to good use
  • Set an unwavering expectation that relationships between supervisors, peers, and employees are respectful and inclusive
  • Create positive environments that influence how we feel physically and mentally at work and reflect attention to detail not only in the quality of our output, but in our daily productive routines
  • Optimize schedule to balance production efficiency, deliver supply, and promote employee well-being
  • Help drive all TQM activities within the sites
  • Support successful new product/piloting
  • Consistently ensure that area job responsibilities are promptly and efficiently carried out and nurture a high level of leadership and team performance

Qualifications
  • HS diploma or equivalent required, BS degree in a related field highly desired
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Three (3) plus years in a lead or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Office 365
  • Ability to measure, track, visually communicate, and improve production efficiency and capacity using a daily continuous improvement methodology
  • Strong communication skills
  • 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen and CI knowledge and experience
  • Experience coaching, training and developing a team toward success
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Sound judgement and forward thinking
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a cross functional team
  • Experience working in diverse environment
  • Ability to work occasional weekends when needed.
  • Military Veteran experience is a PLUS
  • Spanish speaking is a PLUS

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 + 5% Bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
