Join Thumb Tool & Engineering (TTE), North America’s second largest supplier of aluminum extrusion tooling as a Manufacturing Heat Treat Operator.
As a Manufacturing Heat Treat Operator, you’ll be responsible for performing the heat treatment processes by using high heat and draw ovens that harden and strengthen steel. You’ll be processing a variety of parts that come through our plant, it’s an important job where you’ll grow and learn.
What this work looks like:
- Determine heat treatment process according to the mass and specified hardness desired of the steel
- Load and unload steel into ovens or vats using lifts or overhead cranes
- Manage valves or thermostats to obtain specified oven temperatures
- Communicate with individuals associated with the production of each work order
- Perform verification of the hardness tester with appropriate standards and document the results at specified intervals
- Identify and report any suspicious and/or non-conforming product
- Document the amount of time spent on each job for cost analysis
- Perform necessary machine maintenance on heat treatment equipment
Skills needed to win:
- Knowledgeable of Heat Treat Process and machines used to manufacture tooling
- Ability to read and interpret documents including blueprints, sketches, and written specifications
- Positive and professional attitude
- Available to work weekends and overtime as necessary
- High school Diploma or GED
